Cloudy Bay’s story begins in 1985, the same year its first distinctive, refreshing and vibrant Sauvignon Blanc was released. Established by Cape Mentelle founder David Hohnen, Cloudy Bay is one of the five oldest wineries in Marlborough.
Currently, Cloudy Bay's Marlborough Vineyard produces Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and the traditionally made Compass wine. The exceptional quality and variety of these wines demonstrate the preeminence of the Marlborough wine region.
Cloudy Bay is never satisfied with its current achievements and constantly explores new areas. Te Koko, a white wine launched in 2000 using barrel fermentation, changed the world's view of the Marlborough region's representative grape varieties. In 2009, Cloudy Bay embarked on a new adventure and established a second vineyard in the Central Otago production area, specializing in the production of high-quality and delicate Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir red wine.
Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc
A white wine from New Zealand made exclusively from the Sauvignon Blanc variety. Known for its balanced acidity and great aromatic potential, this coupled with its unique citrus hue makes this Cloudy Bay a very refreshing wine. This exquisite Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc put New Zealand on the wine world map. It is probably the most prestigious Sauvignon Blanc in the world and definitely lives up to its reputation.
Palate: Smooth, concentrated and juicy, with ripe succulent stone fruit, lemongrass and crisp texture, with a long finish. Pairings: Great with meat or vegetarian stuffed peppers, grilled chicken or squid and crab.
